11 Belgrave Road
11 Belgrave, Victoria, London.
With pale wood, polished concrete, soft lighting and clean lines. I focused on creating calm, airy shots that showed off the volume of the office floors and the craftsmanship in the finishes. The reception area, in particular, had a beautifully restrained material palette that photographed really well in natural light.
11 Belgrave is a refined office redevelopment project in Victoria, London, designed by Eric Parry Architects. As a photographer, I wanted to document the building’s final transformation.
The brief was clear: create a set of architectural photographs that highlight the building’s calm material palette, subtle detailing, and context within one of London’s most prestigious districts.
Architectural Photography Approach
The building has been completly stripped back to only its shell before being rebuilt, a rooftop extension boasting a terrace has been added above.
From a photography perspective, I wanted to utilise the big windows and take advantage of all the natural light coming in to the floors. This was more challenging at the rear of the ground floor, but this area makes for a great looking luxurious ground floor office space, that gets light in the morning and has access to two outside areas.
Exterior, Interior and Spatial Quality
Inside, the architecture is minimalist and highly functional. Timber, polished concrete, and soft ambient lighting define the reception. My focus as an architectural photographer was to convey calm, clarity, and spaciousness.
Wide-angle interior shots show off the building’s scale and openness, while tighter frames highlight material junctions and crafted details. Clean lines, generous glazing, and natural muted tones were all carefully composed to reflect the elegance of the interior design.
The final set of architectural photographs includes front exteriors, interiors, terrace and views over the London skyline.
All images were colour balanced for material accuracy, with light post-production to preserve realism.
As an architectural photography in London i really enjoyed this project, this shoot represents what I value most: subtle design, thoughtful materiality, and a beautiful refurbishment of what previously occupied the space.
